Alexo Wandael

Alexo Wandael is an Italian Director based in Los Angeles and New York. He was born and raised in Italy where he studied Architecture before moving to Berlin and New York where he practiced for 11 years. Eventually he followed his passion for photography and became a fashion and fine art photographer in New York receiving Awards and accolades from both the fashion and art world. In 2012 the reportage in Afghanistan with the Italian Army drew him more towards narrative and on his return he travelled US and Canada on his Moto (Arcadia) publishing 2 road trip photo books. He moved to LA where he created LANYMA films (movies with a soul) producing in 2019 his first short film “To my Pink Lady” in memory of his friend Cristina. The first long feature “Tomato Soup in Skid Row” explores the social and racial issue of homelessness and was inspired by his photo essay of Skid Row in 2016. Wandael's aesthetics and visual story telling extended to the direction of music videos and commercials and his clientele include Versace, Vivienne Westwood, Bulgari, Nike, Hermes, Amazon, celebrities like Katy Perry, KT Tunstall, Oleg Cassini, Patch Adams and many other personalities within the Fashion and Arts communities.
